This Department organizes following cultural activities: –
Talent Show Competition: This Department sponsored Talent Show Competition to all the colleges affiliated to this University. This function was organized in the month of September/October by all the colleges on different dates as per their convenience. This Department makes payment of prizes in cash to all the colleges for giving prizes to the winners.
Sanskrit Day: Sanskrit Day is organized every year on the University Campus by the Department of Sanskrit for which this Department releases grant of Rs.10,000/- for this function.
Kamlesh Memorial Poetical Symposium: – Kamlesh Memorial Poetical Symposium is organized by this department every year.
All India Inter University Youth Festival: This Department participated in the All India Inter University Youth Festival held at Vidyasagar University, Midnapore (West Bengal) 19th to 23rd January 2009 and got 2nd & 3rd position in Gazal & Fine Arts.
Kamal Nayan Bajaj Elocution Competition: Kamal Nayan Bajaj Elocution Competition is organized by this department every year in the month of December. All the affiliated college participate in this competition.
Haryana Day: This Department makes arrangement for the organization of Haryana Day State Level Festival from 28th October to 31st October every year in University Campus. But this year it was organized from 3rd to 6th November 2008. Mrs. Jyoti Arora IAS, Director of Higher Education, Haryana was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function. Mrs. Asha Hooda was the Chief Guest of the valedictory function. Near about 2500 participants participate in this function. Winner was given cash prize and trophy along with certificate. D.A.V. College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar was the winner of Over All Trophy Champion. Professional saang was also performed in the courtyard of the University for the revival of this traditional.
Zonal Youth Festival: All maintained/affiliated colleges have been divided into seven zones (Ambala Zone, Karnal Zone, Kurukshetra Zone, Yamuna Nagar Zone, Hisar Zone, Sirsa Zone & Technical Zone) for the purpose for the organizing Zonal Youth Festival. Zonal Youth Festivals are being organized in the month of October/November every year in all the zones.
Inter Zonal Youth Festival: Inter Zonal Youth Festival is to be organized by the Department of Youth & Cultural Affairs in the month of November/December every year on the University campus. All the recommended teams of Zonal Youth Festival of seven zones participate in this festival and get position.
Literary, Fine Arts Competition-cum-workshop & Quiz competition: Literary, Fine Arts Competition-cum-workshop & Quiz competition is organized by the department.
North Zone Inter University Youth Festival: This Department participated in the North Zone Inter University Youth Festival held at Punjab University, Chandigarh on its Campus from 13th to 17th December 2008 and got 1st, 2nd & 3rd position in Gazal, Poetry & Elocution and invited to participate in the All India Inter University Youth Festival.
Science Day Celebration: Science Day is to be celebrated by the Science Department every year. Department releases grant of Rs.40,000/- for this function.
Adventurous Programme/Camps: This Department organizes following camps/ Adventurous programmes in the month of May/June every year: –
A.Trekking Party (Boys-UG&PG Classes)
B.Trekking Party (Girls-UG&PG Classes)
C.Two Basic Youth Leadership Camp (Boys & Girls-UG&PG Classes)
D.Two Advance Youth Leadership Camp (Boys & Girls-UG&PG Classes)
These tours are organized mostly in hill areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This Department makes transportation, boarding & lodging arrangements of these.
Geeta Jayanti: Geeta Jayanit samaroh is organized by the Kurukshetra Development Board in the month of November/December every year. This department participates in this prestigious festival. Various colleges affiliated to this University represents KUK in cultural field.
Screening of Films: Kurukshetra University has a Film Society in the Campus. For the purpose of entertainment of the students and motivation of the students various kinds of films are screened in the University Auditorium every week.
Celebration of Republic Day: This Department makes arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day Programme on 26th January every year in the courtyard of the University Auditorium “Bhagwad Geeta Sadan”. The Department arranged teams for the presentation of patriotic songs and National Anthem on this occasion.
Indian Folk Theatre Festival: Kurukshetra University organized Indian Folk Theatre Festival from 20th to 24th Feb 2009 on the University campus as a regular feature. In this festival the folk theatre forms throughout the country invited to perform at Kurukshetra in the month of February from 20th to 24th February 2009. In this festival, different folk theatre forms participated in this festival.
Theater Festival: was organized by this Department in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akaedemi in the month of March on the Universi0ty Campus.
Lok Rang Utsav 2009: was organized by this department with the collaboration of North Zone Culture Center Patiala. Various folk Dances were performed by the different artiste.
Many Activities are organised on regular basis round the year
Independence Day: Independence Day is celebrated at K.U. Campus. All the students of the Departments and the Schools participate in this event. All the teaching and non-teaching Departments of the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra show their presence. And the chief guest of the event worthy Vice-Chancellor addresses to the teaching, non-teaching staff and students of the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
Talent Show Competitions at all the affiliated/maintained colleges (under the sponsorship of Department of Youth & Cultural Affairs): Talent Show Competition is organized by Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs. A circular of talent show is circulated to all the affiliated colleges with KUK and UTD in which all the bonafide students participate in Music, Dance, Theatre and Literary events. The best students are selected and they are given cash prizes at the rate 600/-, 500/-, 400/- to the first, second and third position holders respectively. The payment of winner students is made by Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs.
Guru Shishya Prampra folk Inst Workshop: This Workshop is organized to train the new students by the Ustad/experts of fields. During this training the fresher students learn how to play the instruments. This workshop is organized for ten days in which talented students get their training and bring the fruitful results through the learning. Through this medium the folk instruments are revived. In this workshop playing of Saarangi, Been, Bansali, Tumba, Nagada instruments training are given to the students by the Ustad.

Workshop of Fine Arts and Folk Handicraft: The workshop of Fine Arts is organized at K.U. Campus. All the students of affiliated colleges with KUK and UTD participate in this workshop. The experts of their field are invited for five days. They teach the students practically. In this workshop the students get a good response and learn from the experts. All the expenditures in this regard is made by Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs.
Literary Workshop: The Literary workshop is organized at K.U. Campus. All the students of affiliated colleges with K.U.K .and UTD participate in this workshop. The experts of their field are invited for five days. They teach the students practically. In this workshop the students get a good response and learn from the experts. All the expenditures in this regard is made by Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs. The students create the poetry, declamation, self composition and deliver their poetry before the audience.
Voice of KUK 1st Round: Voice of KUK in memory of renowned Ghazal singer, Late Sh. Jagjit Singh ex-student of KUK is organized by the Department of Youth Cultural Affairs in the University Auditorium. The winner students of 1st round held in the month of September participated in the final round.
Celebration of Hindi Diwas: Hindi Day is organized every year on the University Campus by the Department of Hindi for which this Department releases grant for this function.
Kamlesh Memorial Poetical Symposium: Kamlesh Memorial Poetical Symposium is organized by this department at the four zones of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. A circular is circulated to all the colleges and two best students of KUK are invited to participate in the Kamlesh Memorial Poetical Symposium. The best students are given cash prizes by the Judges. The first preference is given to the self written poetry.
Zonal Youth Festival of Four Zones: Kurukshetra University has bifurcated all the affiliated colleges with KUK in four different zones i.e. Karnal Zone, Kurukshetra Zone, Ambala Zone & Yamuna Nagar Zone. All the affiliated colleges and UTD participate in their respective zones. All the students participate in the forty three events of Dance, Drama and Music. The first and second position holders get the cash prizes and get participated in Inter-Zonal Youth Festival.
Inter Zonal Youth Festival: Inter Zonal Youth Festival is organized by the Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs at K.U. Campus or in the affiliated colleges of KUK with the permission of the worthy vice chancellor. All the first and second position holders of zonal youth festival participate in the Inter Zonal Youth Festival. The cash prizes to the individual participants and group events is given by the Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs. The first position holder appears in the North Zone Inter University Youth Festival.
Ratnawali Haryana Day State Level Festival: Haryana Day state level festival is organized at K.U. Campus since last 3 decades. This is a theme festival of Haryana state. All the events in this festival are organized in Haryanvi language only. All the Universities of Haryana state participate in this festival. Every a new event is added as a competitive event. The day performers of Haryana State are also invited to show the glimpses of Haryana State.
Kamal Nayan Bajaj Elocution Competition at Shiksha Mandal Wardha: Kamal Nayan Bajaj Elocution Competition is organized by this department every year in the month of December. All the affiliated colleges participate in this competition.
Geeta Jayanti: Geeta Jayanit samaroh is organized by the Kurukshetra Development Board in the month of November/December every year. This department participates in this prestigious festival. Various colleges affiliated to this University represents KUK in cultural field.
Celebration of Republic Day at KU Campus: This Department organizes the Republic Day on 26th Jan in the courtyard of this University Auditorium “Bhagwad Geeta Sadan” and arranged patriotic song and National Anthem for presentation on this occasion.
Kavi Sammelan/Patriotic Song Cultural Evening: This Department organizes Kavi Sammelan/Patriotic Song Cultural Evening.
Participation in the North Zone Inter University National Youth Festival: This Department participates in the North Zone Inter University National Youth Festival.
Participation in the All India Inter University National Youth Festival: This Department participates in the All India Inter University National Youth Festival.

Ratnawali Yuva Saang Mahotsav at four different venue: Ratnawali Yuva Saang Mahotsav was introduced in the session 2012-13, for the promotion of extinct Folk Theatre form of Haryana. The winner students of Ratnawali Haryana Day state Level festival who get 1st and 2nd position participate in this festival.
Voice of KUK Final round: Top ten students of 1st round held in the month of September participate in the final round.
Participation in the SAUFEST(South Asian Universities Youth Festival): This Department participates in the SAUFEST (South Asian Universities Youth Festival).
