1 | 1. Life span development during prenatal stage: Conception, signs of pregnancy and discomforts during pregnancy. Teratology and hazards to prenatal development. 2. Stages of prenatal development: Prenatal growth and activities in first, second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The birth process (stages of delivery of baby and placenta), complications during delivery and types of birth. 3. Care of the infant (0-2 years) Physical Characteristics of the neonate- size, weight, body-proportion, body temperature, neonatal capacities and reflex actions, screening test for newborn (APGAR scale). Rearing and care of the infant- feeding, weaning, sleeping, bathing and toilet training. Common diseases and immunization during infancy. |
