| 2 | Conglomerate types -ortho, para, intraformational. Sandstone types - feldspathic and arkose, lithic, wackes and quartz arenites. Shales and clays. Classification of sandstones. Sedimentological characteristics of fluvial, glacial and aeolian environments. Provenance of sediments, paleocurrent analysis. |

Application of sedimentary petrology to science, industry and technology. Active tectonic studies of sedimentary basins.
