3 | Induction motor Drives: Characteristics, analysis and performance, starting methods, braking methods, transient analysis, methods of speed control, vector control. Static control techniques- stator frequency control, stator voltage control, rotor resistance control. Static Scherbius system & static Kramer system. | |
4 | Selection of motor power rating: Heating and cooling, determination of motor rating, continuous, short time and intermittent duties, determination of moment of inertia of the flywheel.
