Classification of Instruments(Absolute & Secondary Instruments; Indicating, Recording & Integrating instruments; Based upon Principle of operation), Generalized Instrument (Block diagram, description of blocks). |

2 | Indicating Instruments:Three forces in Electromechanical indicating instrument, Comparison between gravity & spring controls; Comparison of damping methods & their suitability, bearing supports, pivot-less supports (Simple & taut-band), Scale information. Recorders: Strip chart recorders, galvanometric recorders, null type recorders, potentiometric recorders, X-Y recorders, ultraviolet recorders, magnetic tape recorders, FM recorders and their merits and demerits, pulse duration modulation (PDM) recorders & digital tape recorders (RB, RZ, NRZ-M and NRZ-C). |
