Policy parameters related to conserving environmental resources-forests and wildlife, Biodiversity fresh water resources and coastal resources.
Policy perspectives for land degradation and desert ecosystems.
Sustainable food policy challenges and institutional designs for improving food production Scheme of labeling of environmentally friendly products (Ecomark)
2 Basic concepts of Environmental Planning, Integrated land –use planning land-use patterns, urban planning-impact of population growth.
Water Resources planning in India: Ground water; water harvesting technologies; interlinking of rivers in India.
Institutional design for renewable energy resources, hazardous waste management and handling rules, 1989; resource management; disaster management.
3 Provision in constitution of India regarding environment article 48-A and 51-A (g). Environmental legislation India: Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974; The Air(Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981; The Environmental Protection Act, 1986; Wild Life Protection Act 1972, 1991; Forest Conservation Act,1980; Indian Forest Act, 1982; Motor Vehicle Act,1988 (Environmental aspects). Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991 and rules, National Green Tribunal Act (2010).
4 International Conventions and Agreements on environmental issues: Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES); Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD); United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification; Ramsar Convention.
