1. Preparation of mitotic chromosomes from onion root tips
2 2. Preparation of meiotic chromosomes from grasshopper testes.
3 3. Preparation of karyotypes from micrographs.
4 4. Calculation of morphometric data and preparations of idiogram.
5 5. Determination of chiasma frequency and terminalization coefficient.
6 6. Study of permanent slides of different stages of meiosis and mitosis.
7 Preparation of polytene chromosomes (Chironomous/mosquito) and mapping.
8 8. Preparation of Solutions- Standard solution, Molar, Molal and Normal solution.
9 9. Proteins: Quantitative estimation of proteins by Biuret method and Lowry’s method.
10 10. Carbohydrates: quantitative estimation of total carbohydrates and glucose
11 11. Analysis of Fats/ Oils: iodine number, saponification value, acid value quantitative estimation of total lipids.
12 12. Preparation of Standard curve for the estimation andextraction of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).
13 13. Paper chromatography: amino acids and carbohydrates.
14 14. Thin layer chromatography: neutral and phospholipids.
15 15. Tools: demonstration of parts and working of the following tools: PCR, GLC, Spectrophotometers, various kinds of microscopes, pH meter, Electrophoresis, Centrifuges, Tissue culture unit, Incubators
16 16. Microbiological media preparation, sterilization, dilution, inoculation and standard plate count.
