Photosynthesis: Photo-oxidation of water, cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation, photorespiration and its significance. The sequence of reactions in photosynthesis, the path of carbon assimilation (C3 and C4 cycles, CAM pathway). |

| 3 | Respiration: Glycolysis, Krebs cycle, electron transport chain and ATP synthesis, pentose phosphate pathway, glyoxylate cycle. Nitrogen Metabolism: Biochemistry of nitrogen fixation, nitrogenase, nitrogen fixation in legumes, nitrate assimilation, ammonium assimilation, biosynthesis of amino acids. |
