About Us

In the year 2003, University took a strategic decision of starting an Integrated 5-Year MBA Programme under the umbrella of Department of Management in order to cope with the emerging challenges of management education. Since then, the department has remained very successful in meeting the corporate requirements of trained work force both at middle and top level managerial positions. On receiving an overwhelming response from all corners for this programme, University decided for a separate Institute. Accordingly, in year 2005 the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) was established to run MBA-5 Year Integrated Practice Oriented Programme. The students of the Institute get BBA and MBA degrees after successful completion of first three year and total five years respectively. The admissions to the programme are made as per merit score comprises of weightage of qualifying examination (senior secondary) marks, marks at an All India Entrance Test and Interview. The students admitted in this programme come from various academic, social and geographical backgrounds. The Institute offers specializations in accordance with the requirements of the industry and interest of the students. The major fields of specialization include Finance, Marketing and HRM. The institute has started a new course, i.e. BBA (Honours) in 2021 considering the demand of the course nationally and internationally. Unlike a two year MBA Programme, the Institute offers the students with specialization both in 4th and 5th year. Moreover, the Institute utilizes the services of visiting faculty from industry and academia. The Institute has its own library equipped with above 6000 books, 54 Computers, adequate number of smart class rooms/OHPs etc. Several reputed companies visit the Institute for summer/Final placements.

The academic environment is changing with faster pace due to rapid transformation in corporate including industry, services and agriculture. Post Covid environment poses challenges as well as opportunities of new kind. There is huge requirement of talented and skilled youngsters not only in India but globally also. The responsibility shoulders on educational and academic institutions to fill the gap. The Institute of Management Studies, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra is putting efforts to meet the corporate demand in different functional areas of management. Besides MBA-5year integrated course, the institute has commenced BBA (Honours) course also considering demand of the course nationally and internationally. The amendments in the syllabi of the subjects and introduction of new subjects is done continuously in the institute. The faculty of the institute work very hard and smart for total positive transformation of budding managers. Positive change is brought in the students through a basket of teaching methods including case studies, role play, term-end training projects, empirical research studies, group discussion, mock interviews, personality development and skill enhancement programs etc. The institute is striving hard to educate best the students, so that they can serve best the corporate and society.
