About Us

In 1976 UGC established University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra as a Central Instrumentation Facility.  It was aimed to up keep the scientific equipment in the university science departments to give an impetuous to research and development (R&D) activities of the university. This endeavor was supported by providing the best human resource for the purpose.  With the support of state of art facilities and human resources in the field of instrumentation it played a pivotal role in R&D activities of the university.

  1. Publication of three volumes of Mahabharata Padanukramakośa during 2020-22.
  2. Publication of the digest Prachi Jyoti vol. 45-46 in 2020.

The Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies is a prestigious research Institution of the University, started with an objective of pursuing high quality research projects in the field of Indology. The Institute publishes an annual digest ‘Prachi Jyoti’ since its inception and organizes seminars and conferences every year in order to reach some fruitful outcomes. The Institute has taken a major research project of ‘Mahabharata Word Concordance’ to be published in fifteen volumes with financial assistance for publication from Ministry of HRD through Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. To meet out the requirements of society, the institute has run a short term course of one month namely ‘Vastu Shastra and Indian interior Design’ in January 2020 under RUSA 2.0. The Institute further proposes to start new courses in coming session e.g. PG Diploma in Indological Studies; Diploma in Vastu Shastra & Jyotish; Diploma in Translation etc. which have been approved by the Adhoc Committee. The Institute is also committed to bring new major/ minor projects to reach new heights in the area of Indological research.
